Best Performing Growth Funds

by Douglas on July 14, 2010

The best performing growth funds are not what a person would expect from this kind of fund. This is evidence that the recession is still ongoing and there is a lack of confidence in the market. Since most of the world economies are going through austerity measures, their growth is not at the fore front of importance. This is shown in the growth Mutual Funds and their performances.

It just shows how things change from year to year. Last year, a majority of the growth funds had double-digit returns. With half the year gone so far, most growth funds are just breaking even. There are a few shining stars, but a majority are not doing very well.

The Dynamic US Growth I Fund (DWUGX) is the only one presently in the double-digit returns. This fund has a year to date return of 11.37%. This fund has a one year return of 48.14%, but the 1 month return is at -1.41%.

The second rated fund so far this year of 2010 is the Marsico Flexible Capital Fund (MFCFX). It has a YTD return of 6.32%. The one year return for this fund is at 40.94%, and the one month return is 2.48%.

The third best performing growth fund is the Federated Kaufmann Large Cap Fund (KLCIX) with a YTD return of 3.45%. The one year return for this fund is at 25.69%, and the one month return is 0.95%.

Slotted in number four is a surprise to all. This is the Aberdeen US Equity I/S (GXXIX). This fund has a YTD return of 3.41%. The big surprise here is the turn around. The one year return for this fund is at a negative 33.23%. The one month return is at 10.02%. Whatever the 5 fund managers are doing with this investment sure seems to be a great turn around and worth keeping track of.

These are the best performing growth funds with just over half of the year 2010 gone.
